Showy tick trefoil, Desmodium canadense is a flowering perennial in the legume family. It gets its name from the large terminal clusters of rose colored flowers and seedpods that stick to animals. It grows up to 1.5m and attracts many insects, birds, and mammals.

Wildlife Benefits: nectar source, larval host, food source

Uses: Pollinator Gardens, meadow/prairie plantings

Conditions: Full sun to part shade, dry to moist
