Black Eyed Susan, Rudbeckia hirta is a showy perennial. It has a flower head approximately 5-10 cm wide with bright yellow petals and a dark brown center disk. It has dense, hairy, lance shaped leaves and grows up to 0.5m. It attracts numerous birds, bees, and butterfly’s and is an essential component to any pollinator garden.

Uses: Pollinator gardens, Meadow/prairie planting, early successional species

Conditions: Full sun, moist to dry, well drained, acidic, drought tolerant, deer resistant
