Purple-flowering Raspberry, Rubus odoratus is a fast growing shrub in the raspberry family, it is sometimes known as Thimbleberry. It has large maple shaped leaves. The canes are thornless but with bristly hairs. The light purple flowers are 3-5cm across and have 5 rounded petals. They produce edible button shaped berries that are flatter and seedier than red raspberries. Flowers attract lots of pollinators and fruit are eaten by a variety of birds.
